DEAR LIFE Signs to Uprising
From the inbox:
Hacienda Heights, CA quintet DEAR LIFE has signed with Uprising Records and is set to release their debut album Framework on June 24. Since solidifying their line up in 2004, Dear Life has emerged as a clear front runner to become one of the next successful hardcore/metal bands. It is the bandÂs dedication and ambition that has allowed them to rise to their current status and will help them to continue their success.
It was their shared belief that music can deeply impact a person that brought founding members Vince Apostol (guitar), Matt Apostol (drums), and Daniel Moran (guitar) together to form Dear Life. The addition of vocalist Kevin Castellon and bassist Mike Trujillo in 2004 rounded out the bandÂs line up and Dear Life was ready to move forward full steam ahead. Since 2004, the band has earned themselves spots on tours with Arsonists Get All The Girls (Century Media) and Catherine (Rise) and more recently shared the stage with the likes of such heavy hitters as Every Time I Die and Chiodos.
Framework showcases Dear LifeÂs attention to their songwriting and the blending of their influences to create a sound that is truly their own. ÂAll of us in the band enjoy all kinds of genres and I think it shines through in our music, says guitarist Vince Apostol of Dear LifeÂs influences. The album is chock full of heavy riffs, breakdowns, and group sung choruses. To help capture the bandÂs unique sound and passion for their music Dear Life brought in Roger Camero (The Warriors, No Motiv) to record and produce the album and Paul Miner (New Found Glory, Thrice, Atreyu) to do the mixing and mastering on the album.
With their debut album ready for the masses Dear Life has no plans of slowing down. The band has already got their touring schedule for the next few months loaded with what are sure to be more notable accomplishments including current dates with Comeback Kid and then performances at Bamboozle Left in Irvine, CA and Spring Breakdown Fest in San Bernardino, and tours with Dillinger Escape Plan and The Bled. With the stars aligned for Dear Life it appears that the sky is the limit for their success.

Only One More Show…
We’ve got only ONE more show left.
I feel very sad.
But I think TOC doesn’t go with the word “sad”.
So, we’ll try to rock so hard that we don’t even feel sad.
I’m so happy that our first US tour is TOC with these bands and these crews.
We’ll keep up our best until the very last moment of the tour.

I love Taste of Chaos!!!
Hey guys!
It’s SATOchi.
It’s been a month and half since TOC started and the tour will be over after two more shows.
I feel like it’s was very long but it’s was short at the same time.
The best thing about this tour was that I could be like a family member with the crew and the staff.
I’ll keep up my best for last two shows not to regret about anything.
The catering crew takes care of our health through the tour, the other crew helps us on stage and off stage, and audience cheers us up.
I really feel this tour has been successful with the grace of all those people.
I appreciate it.
I love Taste Of Chaos.
See you guys!

We enjoyed today’s show in San Jose.
San Jose is the memorial city where we did our first show in the States.
We come back here today, and remember the memorial day.
We hope our D’espairsRay’s show today was much better than last time.
Thank you for everybody coming here today!
Tomorrow’s show is Sacramento.
The last city in California.
We will have only 2 shows in this tour, Taste Of Chaos.
Let’s enjoy tomorrow, too.

Las Vegas Loves JRock!
Laura stopped by, cupcakes in hand, to be the eyes and ears of JROCK.
Take it away Laura!
D’espairsray took the stage to the sound of the screams of fans who had traveled a long way to make it here to Vegas for Rockstar’s Taste of Chaos. I turned and looked back over the sea of heads, thousands of bodies packed into one house, and wondered to myself, how many of the people here had never heard of Jrock outside of a few songs backing a favorite TV show. Whatever preconceived notions you may have about them are bound to be ripped to shreds as Hizumi barrels to the center of the stage and blasts his voice across the audience. Watching Karyu and Zero play for the first time gave me the feeling of, “Wow, now here are a bunch of guys who truly loose themselves to the music.” They are a powerful five that know how to hook an audience in less than three minutes flat. Zero leans back on his heels as he lowers into a crouch and swings his bass out in front of the audience. His face breaks into a constant smile of satisfaction as the audience is pumped into frenzy. Once they exit the security guard can’t help but turn to me and ask, “Who were they?”
Mucc treated us to a taste of Japanese hospitality. The quintet entered barefoot with Asian inspired costumes, an elegant backdrop, and Tatsurou’s vibrant personality. He seemed to really enjoy talking to the audience and spoke completely in English in between the songs. By the time they busted out with FUZZ an otherwise once apprehensive crowd got taken for a ride and there wasn’t a still head in the house. Tatsurou was a spinning dervish breaking out into a variety of humorous facial expressions, taunting security guards, and never missing a note. That man is so much more engaging than I had ever imagined before.
Miya jumped up onto the center amps and belted out a guitar solo that earned a rallying cry for everyone below. Its fun to watch Mucc just because of how much they really enjoy playing together. They closed with their epic Libra before Tatsurou said goodbye with a deep bow and promised that they would be back again, “Very Soon!”
The Underneath was the band on this tour that I was the least familiar with. Immediately after Mucc left us they exploded from the second stage. The vocalist swaggers up to the edge and stares down the front row in a near challenging manner. The guitarists play off each other, and the bassist bounces around the stage full of the energy of the moment. The vocalist asks us if we are ready to rock but I don’t think it would have mattered if we were or weren’t. The Underneath charges ahead regardless.
In the end it was a fantastic evening for Jrock fans. We got to see three bands that most of us had not had the chance to catch before, and even better for those who are unfamiliar and got a taste for the first time. I’m sure there were a lot of people here who discovered something new.

But I really enjoyed it as well.

A hundred to one it clears up
When we play at outdoor venues on this tour, it always rains when we arrive.
But it always clears up around the time doors open.
TOC is so great!!

Corpus Christi
We almost made it to Mexico but decided to stay in Texas and play for the fine folks of Corpus Christi. We had Michael and Jennifer come by to blog and win VIP tickets through Crushgirls.com radio contest.
“This is the best concert in the WORLD!! Rockstar Taste of Chaos with Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet for My Valentine these bands totally rock and put on a great show. I live to see these awesome rock shows and I think this is the best concert I have ever been to. I came to get crushed in the chaos to see my ultimate fav band, Bullet For My Valentine, so being crushed was totally worth it, and Atreyu totally rocked the house too!”
Tomorrow we are on to San Antonio where things are about to get hotter and a whole lot better!

My F**king Mouth
It was the first day of a series of four show days today.
I did such silliness that I mistook where I was.
I shouted “Texas!!” from the stage though we were actually in Oklahoma.
As I told the other guys on the tour, they were like “really?” and just laughed.
But it must be beyond a joke for the audience.
My apologies…
But I was so happy that people came to see me who made such a silly mistake, at the signing and made compliments to me.
I’ll come back here and have another show to make up for this.
Let’s have much more fun then!!
See you guys!!!

I took my two teens to this show imagining my ears might bleed by the time it was over. I was surprised to find that I still enjoy a good kickass rock show and I am now an A7X fan as well.
P.S. Good tribute to our friends and family fighting for us in Iraq.

Omg! That was amazing… I was very excited to attend this show because its not common for tours like this to come here. It’s official 3:00 in the morning and I just can’t get to bed. I have the visions of D’espairsRay, Bullet for my valentine, Atreyu, and A7x dancing in my head. The ringing still in my ears and on top of it a very bad sore throat from screaming my head off. It has really been the best day of my life. I was so disapointed, though, when I found out D’espairsRay (my new fav. band) was soing autograph signings cause I totally missed it… Bummer! But I won’t say it ruined the whole day. Seriously… I would spend every last drop of money I had to experiance it again. Thanks for giving us, Maine fans, a chance to experiance such an AMAZING Night… I can’t stress that enough!

The show was frickin awesome. MUCC and D’EspairsRay and The Underneath were amazing. Bullet For My Valentine definitely had the crowd gowing. Of course there was moshing and crowd surfing, but it wouldn’t be a concert without them. Then Avenged Sevenfold… THere are so amazing. There show kicked a**. The encore was sweet. I’m definitely going next year, especially if there’s more JRock.

That was one of the best concerts I have Ever attended. Bullet For My Valentine rocked the place off its foundation. Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold were just as good. That was the best six hours of metal, with all the bands of course.

Taste of Chaos was without a doubt the greatest show I have ever been to. Bullet for my Valentine ROCKED it. Atreyu was absolutely amazing, and AVENGED SEVENFOLD was by far the best performance. These bands have the greatest fans in the world. Everybody made sure that I wasn’t dropped when crowd surfing…it was just incredible. Definitely the best show ever…and I’ve been to a lot of shows. COME TO NORFOLK AGAIN BULLET!!!!

GREAT TOUR!
Hey guys!
This is SATOchi, the drummer from MUCC!!
Yaaayyyy!!!
We’ve done sweaty series of three show days in a row for the past couple weeks.
And finally we had a non-continuous show day and will have a day off tomorrow.
I assume it is like that in order to prepare for the four shows in a row after tomorrow, which we haven’t done on this tour.
More than a month is over already since TOC started.
As time goes by, we got closer and closer to the tour crew and we’ve been having more and more fun.
By grace of the tour crew, the local staff, and the fans, this tour has been going very well.
I really appreciate it so much!
